Lentils for good Luck.
Most of us know how healthy lentils are. Lentils have the third-
highest level of protein, by weight, of any plant-based food after soybeans and hemp, and is an important part of the diet in many
parts of the world, especially in the Indian subcontinent which has large vegeterian populations.
But some of you may not know yet that eating lentils on New Year’s for
good luck is a custom that goes back to the ancient Romans.
The star of the dinner is lentils, symbolizing money, safety and good fortune for the coming year.
According to the superstition, if we eat Lentils on the first day of
the year, then we will be nice and richer than last year!.
One of my favorite things at about Tart from the rotational soup menu is the delicious Lentil Soup.
I was actually talking to a costumer last week that said the lentil
soup reminded him of home because it tasted just like the one his om used to make…
So remember, if you want some “good fortune” for this New Year you
should have some Lentil soup
