TART Comedy
’ve used humor in every situation of my life. And working at Tart Restaurant is no exception. Humor is a great ice breaker when greeting a new table of hungry strangers. I usually start by introducing myself and congratulating them on finding the place (we’re tucked under the Farmers Daughter Hotel across from The Grove). Most of the time I get at least a couple snickers. Otherwise I just go right into our wine and specialty cocktails and act like I didn’t even mention it. Tart is such a laid back and fun environment for both the staff and guests that it is a pretty easy audience to get laughing. The other servers, managers, bussers and especially the kitchen staff could all be professional comics themselves. We take turns cracking each other up all day. Now with the introduction of our new breakfast, lunch, dinner and drink menus, we spend a lot of time quizzing each other on the new items, such as Spicy Alligator or Sweet Potato & Purple Peruvian Potato hash, which is just as fun to say as it is to eat!!! But most of all I enjoy meeting the unique and interesting people I get the pleasure of serving each night. It’s a dining experience for all of us…By the way, I will be performing at The Comedy Store in “The Belly Room” Friday June 19th at 8:30pm. Otherwise I will be performing nightly at Tart Restaurant On Fairfax. LOL!!!!
